About this artwork
On a trip to London, the author was struck by a graffiti on the subway that read ¨mind the gap¨. Some time later, he used this ambiguous feeling generated by the fact of being tempted towards the hole or emptiness and the need to protect himself from it. Through the expressiveness of a meerkat that could be wondering such human questions as whether to cross or not.

« I celebrate the complexity and its contradictions, the doubt, and the search, the unfinished part of the work. »
Manuela Gerosa is a Spanish artist whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Germany. Inspired by post impressionism, surrealism, and symbolism, her paintings explore themes relating to defense, the great unknown, emptiness, the unfinished, transgression, and ambiguousness of feelings. Gerosa relates these themes through the portrayal of animal nature and the environment. Her vivid compositions are created using acrylics, oils, and pencils on canvas or paper.
