About this artwork
The comic heroes Asterix and Obelix were invented in 1959 by author René Goscinny and illustrator Albert Uderzo and are the most successful French comic series. The main characters are the title hero Asterix, his friend Obelix and other inhabitants of a small village in Armorica in Gaul around 50 BC. Obelix's little dog Idefix is always there with them on their adventures.
Watercolors and permanent marker with touch-up pen on a devalued French share.… The share is still in very good condition. It has a fold in the middle, which probably comes from the previous owner. The painting dates from 2023 and is hand-signed and dated.
Manuela Reitz mainly uses acrylic paints, sometimes in combination with watercolors. She uses experimental techniques, with quick, intuitive gestures and the targeted placement of accents with paint markers and black ink. Inspired by nature and childhood motifs, she creates pictures that can be read like books. Her art aims to generate happiness, to enable an emotional journey that touches the heart and makes you forget space and time.
