About this artwork
Neonrausch is the darkest work in the Leuchtende Leichtigkeit series – and at the same time one of its most intense. Deep black and white tones form a calm, almost nocturnal base from which flaming neon colors in yellow, orange, and red burst forth.
Like reflections of light on wet asphalt, the luminous streaks of color wind their way through the composition. They appear almost blurred – as if they might dissolve in the next moment. The image evokes… the quiet walk home after a night of dancing: The world is muted, thoughts drift, and the impressions of the day begin to blend together.
Between shadow and light, a state of limbo emerges – awake yet detached, clear yet blurred. The neon colors pulsate like an echo of the night, while the dark surfaces allow space for stillness and reflection.
Neonrausch captures this moment where reality and memory merge – a luminous echo of movement, music and emotion.
