In this work of mine, acrylic and collage merge to create a vibrant landscape scene, where the figure stands out against a wallpaper of bold colors and emotional layers. The energetic brushwork is designed to convey a sense of eternal movement, evoking the vibrancy and beauty of nature. Every fragment of fabric and every touch of color is a breath, a heartbeat of the earth that invites the viewer to lose their gaze on the horizon and feel part of a greater whole.
I have always loved painting but my educational and professional paths led me to teach for 42 years. When I became an art teacher I felt legitimized to consider myself a painter and to search for my artistic identity. I began to exhibit in local galleries, then national ones. Receiving positive feedback, I expanded to international contexts such as the Luxembourg Art Prize, or the MEAM in Barcelona and others. I often paint women as protagonists capable of bringing their positivity and courage even in difficult and dramatic contexts. I am attracted by the wonder of nature in all its aspects. My work often combines acrylic color with fabrics through collage. It was the discovery of Mickalene Thomas's works that inspired me to experiment with this path. Fabric can enrich what I imagine. Its textures, its yarns, the different consistencies, the beautiful colors, have transformed and enriched my palette.
