Marc Gonz's way of working consists of burying layer upon layer, in this process of burial, a face is configured, part of the disorder and the error in order to find a harmony. Marc Gonz's works through matter and color present us with a distorted version of reality. The brutality and density of the brushstroke show us a visceral, vibrant work, sometimes grotesque and primal, but which at the same time expresses deep emotions, which refer us to the ancestral, the spiritual, going to the essence without artifice, an excavation of the soul. With a mixture of abstraction and expressionism, they create a transformation of the human form, where its meaning is transcended. All this gives us an idea of its complexity and takes us down the path of the deepest unconscious. The artist himself makes his own paintings, achieving an impasto technique in which he recreates the density of modern painting.
