About this artwork
In this work, I experimented with acrylics and oil pastels to capture a light, almost ethereal energy. The abstract lines and forms are meant to represent freedom and the flow of thoughts. I wanted viewers to feel both tranquility and a subtle sense of movement – an invitation to immerse themselves in a green, calming world and discover their own associations.
The works in the "after Ada" series are inspired by my daughter Ada's first drawings,… which she made with a pencil on 10 x 10 cm sticky notes when she was one and a half years old. It was her first encounter with an object that leaves a mark.
Marc Kirschvink, born in 1967 in Eupen, Belgium, and living in Germany since 1997, is an abstract painter working with acrylic paint on canvas and wood. He captivates audiences with his non-verbal language of form and color, often inspired by graphics. His bold play with abstraction allows for individual interpretations, often in areas such as music through his "Score" series of works and parenting through his interpretation of children's sketches in his "nach ada 1" series. Marc seeks expression of emotions and reactions through non-verbal communication.
