About this artwork
In this artwork, I wanted to capture the gentle serenity of a breath of sand caressing the light. The warm hues and abstract forms evoke a landscape in motion, imbued with a soothing energy. Marcel Savy primarily uses oil paint applied with a palette knife, drawing on an academic training enriched by significant artistic encounters. Initially figurative and impressionistic, he now embraces a unique abstraction, where recurring squares evoke the kaleidoscope of his childhood. His style plays on variations of light and color, inviting the viewer to a joyful visual experience. His works resonate with a gentle visual musicality, conveying the pure joy of looking, free from any narrative constraints.
My Training: Julien Bouvier Savoyard Painter's Workshop (1969-1973), Grenoble School of Fine Arts, Claude Blanc-Brude Workshop (1988-1991) in evening classes.
Jacky Claveau Workshop (Angers 1993-1995) Yolande Grancolas Workshop (Angers 1996-1999).
My first solo exhibition was in 1993.
Now at 81, traveling for exhibitions is more complicated, hence my involvement with Singulart.
