Marcel Witte
Netherlands
« I see myself as a visual storyteller, within the literary tradition of fables. »
Marcel Witte is an award-winning Dutch painter and draftsman whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Singapore, Cuba, and Italy. His paintings are a subtle way for him to criticize modern society and are a reflection of political and social issues. The nearly life-sized animals that Witte portrays within his compositions are chosen carefully to reveal human nature without being overly symbolic.
