Patterns of paint between two plastic layers.
Work that uses polyvinyl chloride as a support, which generates a semi-glossy finish.
This unique and unprecedented technique is the result of an extensive investigation of different supports and materials, their characteristics and the adherence of different inks and enamels, in order to transform and make the painting process transparent, allowing what is commonly hidden, be it the wall, the frame… or the procedure itself, they are made visible to the viewer and are an integral part of the work. This work has greater complexity since it has been painted since retirement.
The fundamental objective of this experimentation is to express the need to rescue the values of transparency, naturalness and honesty in today's life.

Marcela Krause is an exciting Chilean painter who has exhibited her work both at home and abroad, including in Venezuela and the US. She employs a vibrant palette of earthy colours in an exploration of warmth and harmony, applying paint onto the reverse side of the canvas and closely engaging with frame and material to communicate transparency in the process of painting itself.
