About this artwork
The starting form is the square. The surfaces are positioned on different levels and planes of hypothetical overlap. The multiples and submultiples of the basic module draw the outline of an irregular shape. As often happens, what is structurally constituted by a regular cell exists very far from the constitutive characteristics of the initial cell. This is the case with the origin of life whose developments are multiple, surprising, unpredictable.…
The project has a physical limitation due to logistical and structural issues. But his basic idea is that this model develops digitally indefinitely or at least until the encounter-clash with another “Algorithm”, whose base cell could formally conflict with this one.

Marcello Simeone is an Italian textile artist whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in the United Kingdom. He became an artist in order to make sense of the immaterial dimension of his personal existential experience and to communicate his concepts in unconventional places. The central element of Simeone's artistic practice is based on the awareness that reality is not what it appears to be. His multi-dimensional compositions are created using wool on wood.
