A young woman with delicate Asian features turns her face toward a powerful light. Suspended between presence and evanescence, she seems to merge with the radiance surrounding her. The light sharpens and dissolves her form, blurring the boundary between figure and space and suggesting a moment of inner transformation.
Literal representation gives way to emotional expression. Her face is composed of fragmented planes of color reminiscent of shattered… reflections, while hair and clothing dissolve into abstraction. The result is less a traditional portrait than a meditation on identity and self-discovery.
