About this artwork
The artist took photographs of hundreds of graffiti around the city, and then placed them in post production on the façade of the famous "seven churches" in Piazza Santo Stefano, in Bologna. He thus wanted to unite two parts of a city in stark contrast to each other that certainly could never merge or become contaminated in any way.

« My mission is to describe the society in which I live. I consider myself only an intermediary, a kind of messenger. »
Marco Biscardi is a prize-winning Italian painter and photographer whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in the United States, Spain, and China. He characterizes his art as being 'CRIT-IRONIC', which is a hybrid of subtle sarcasm and veiled denunciation. Through his compositions, Biscardi's goal is to make people think while simultaneously elciting a smile. His virbant contemporary pieces echo the great catastrophes of the past through the lens of modern contradictions.
