« Art is, among other things, a constant search for beauty: And that's where I stop and search. I am looking for BEAUTY that can be expressed objectively or subjectively. »
Marco Ortolan is a prominent Argentine painter and draftsman whose work has transcended borders, exhibited in galleries in Italy, Mexico, Germany, Portugal, and the United States. True to his vision that art is pure interpretation, his style ranges from expressive realism to contemporary figuration, imbuing each piece with a profound psychological and emotional charge.
His creative process dispenses with traditional sketching: he begins by directly modeling forms with loose, dynamic strokes executed with his own brush on canvas or wood. Using oil paint and various tools, he generates dense textures and immersive plays of light. In his most recent series, he explores fascinating underwater themes, consolidating a magnetic and unique visual universe.
