About this artwork
Cut and Sew tells the story of those relationships suspended between love and hate, in which what is destroyed stubbornly continues to be rebuilt. A cycle of ruptures and attempts at repair that repeats itself with an almost twisted, irrational, yet profoundly human dedication.
The work depicts a flower in the moment it is about to be cut and, at the same time, sewn back together. The man performing this gesture is focused and precise, immersed… in his action as if this apparent contradiction were entirely normal. In this tension between care and destruction, the flower becomes the symbol of a fragile bond, continually wounded and continually mended.
