About this artwork
Amarante is a leaf, a succession of bright colors enclosed in a single shape. Imagine the beauty of walking in the woods in autumn admiring the colors. I found this beautiful phrase by Vincent Van Gogh: as long as there is autumn I will not have enough hands, canvases and colors to paint the beauty I see. sheet shaped and ground with hundreds of very fine threads and colored filigrees, worked by mixing glass canes and powders of various colours. Everything is put in the oven for a first fusion, then I carry out the grinding work in order to eliminate small imperfections due to the fusion. Lastly, the third very delicate phase, folding in the oven on refractory moulds. A total cycle that lasts approximately 60 hours. The sculpture is complete with signature on the base and certificate of authenticity.

Marco Scaramuzza, a multifaceted artist and master glassmaker, merges his love for Murano glass with his training as a painter. In addition to painting, he uses the techniques of glass fusing, lampwork and graffiti, enriching many of his works with precious silver leaves which become the canvas for his paintings.
