About this artwork
Based on abstract sculpture “The Salute”, broaches the exciting game of three-dimensional, concave and convex surfaces, irregularly and sharply set against each other, resulting in volume and archaic force, as if generated by carving stone with flints and hand axes from prehistoric times. On the other hand the forms are also reminiscent of Cubist sculptures.
The empty, seemingly endless spaces wherein the painted sculpture floats weightlessly, are… metaphysical abstractions in the tradition of Giorgio de Chirico. In this image, kept in a cool, gray-blue, despite all the abstraction, anthropomorphic proportions of human figures still echo. There are heads, limbs and bodies in prismatic fragmentation and association of a female form.
