About this artwork
Found Not Lost works almost entirely within a single colour family, blue-greens ranging from pale sage at the upper left through cerulean and teal to deep forest at the lower field, each zone a different depth of the same cool world. The forms move in slow undulating curves, the composition settling into something that reads as landscape without depicting one.
At the centre, where the forms converge, a small terracotta mark and a blush and warm grey… rectangle sit quietly. Two moments of warmth in a painting otherwise built entirely from cool. They are easy to miss. They are the reason you keep looking.
The black outline throughout holds each tonal variation distinct, preventing the greens from merging into each other and giving each zone its own precise character within the family they share.
Part of the Borders Not Limits collection, 2023. 30"×30", acrylic on canvas.
Margaret Lipsey is a Montreal based abstract artist whose work moves between intuition, gesture, and emotional clarity. Her paintings hold the tension between structure and surrender, revealing the quiet force that rises when truth meets movement. Rooted in her background as a Reiki Grand Master and Human Design Consultant, her practice is shaped by presence, energetic precision, and embodied awareness. Color becomes resonance, line becomes intention, and each composition reflects a state of internal alignment expressed through form. Lipsey’s work appears in international publications and curated exhibitions, and her paintings are held in private collections across Canada, the United States, and Europe. She creates with devotion, depth, and a clear sense of purpose, offering collectors work that carries both aesthetic impact and grounded energetic presence.
