About this artwork
This series of works was inspired by the birch bark. She reminds me very much of human lives. Their endless chain, one after another, someone nearby, someone above, someone below. But wherever you are, you are always somewhere in the middle, because no one knows exactly where this chain begins and where it ends.
In this work, I use the analogy of an old, worn and slightly overexposed photograph to further emphasize our connection to history and the… past, which live in our memory and in the memory of previous generations. Sometimes we want to erase some of this, but it is forever rooted in the ground.
The work is done on premium quality linen canvas. The ends are a continuation of the painting. Gallery stretch canvas on a stretcher, 3 cm thick.
« Art is the key to understanding the world. By creating a new one, we make it possible to doubt the existing systems, thereby expanding the boundaries of our soul. »
