About this artwork
The composition balances openness with density, inviting viewers to reflect on interruption as both disturbance and renewal. Colour becomes a language… of emotional resonance: pink as softness, blue as depth, purple as mystery.
This painting belongs to Margie’s ongoing series investigating rhythm, difference, and belonging through abstract gesture. Each work is conceived as a dialogue between control and spontaneity, silence and interruption.

« I feel free, energized and excited to express- my painting is so full of possibilities and taking risks is a big part of what I do. »
I am a Scottish abstract painter based in Fenland, UK, with roots in the Glasgow School of Art and over 25 years of creative practice. My work explores rhythm, belonging, and transformation through layered colour and form, inviting viewers into spaces of emotional resonance and poetic reflection.
Bright colours is central to my practice. I use acrylics with precision and control, balancing vibrancy with subtle transitions. Each artwork becomes a dialogue between clarity and mystery, where colour fields shift and evolve, echoing the rhythms of becoming.
My current series, Becoming is anchored in transformation. These works embody movement, change, and layered meaning, reflecting both personal journeys and universal cycles of growth. Titles are chosen with care to frame each painting as a poetic encounter, guiding collectors toward deeper connection.
I believe abstract art is a language of belonging — a way to create resonance across cultures and experiences.
