the town house. Historical and current maps of the area form further levels, draw paths for the figures Margit T. Schranner, rhythmize their movements. « With my art I want to touch people, to address them on an emotional level, to awaken feelings, images or memories. »
Margit T. Schranner is a passionate German painter and printmaker with national exposure. Her works are centered on illustrations of characters who appear as mere silhouettes, devoid of facial details or obvious personality traits. Blending instead into their environment, they encourage the viewer to contemplate ideas such as identity, memory and forgetting. Schranner uses opaque and transparent surfaces to create depth and movement, ultimately achieving both technical and conceptual balance in her explorations of humans and the world.
