About this artwork
This painting was inspired by Matisse The Open Window. I made this on a warm summer evening when I have my balcony door open and can look over the rooftops of De Pijp in Amsterdam, capturing the quiet warmth of such summer days. Using oil and pastel, I aimed to evoke a sense of peace and invitation, where colors blend softly like memories. I hope this painting makes you think of those warm summer evenings too.
