About this artwork
"Magic Runoff" evokes a poetic collision between water and mineral — as if a liquid substance were passing through a cosmic rock in the midst of transformation:
I used deep blues to suggest the movement of water and energy: current, marine depth, and fluid energy. On the other hand, I used sand, which embodies mineral density.
I also used plant-based glitter, like golden flecks resembling suspended particles. That's what gives all my paintings… their magical quality.
I wanted to play strongly on the senses. Visually, the painting gives a sensation of flow, of trickling.
Tactilely, the texture of the sand makes you want to touch the surface.
And emotionally, it oscillates between oceanic calm and geological tension.
This duality and the brilliant aspect of the work produce an impression that is both natural and magical.
There is an energy here, a positive flow that will bring ZEN to your spaces.
