BOTANIC GARDEN
The purpose of this collection is to question the way in which we believe to impose order in the world we inhabit. It contrasts the search for sciences such as botany, ornithology or ficology with the unbeatable force of Nature and to what extent our tendency to study and categorize the environment is real, together with the belief that we possess it, when rather we are mere spectators with the obligation to maintain it.
The project… is organized by branches of study, alternating techniques and colder and industrial materials, such as methacrylate or aluminum, with other natural materials such as wood or burlap, leaving uncontrolled spots of color between them. A sort of “natural study” is created where the goal is to get closer to the true essence of nature that surrounds us

« In my works, I like to transform reality into a different world to inhabit. For this, I look for different plastic languages that lead us towards a sense of surprise. »
Maria Bejarano is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been exhibted nationally, as well as in France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. She describes her distinctive works as being versatile exploring varying themes, adapting to the stages of her feelings and emotions. In her artistic process, Bejarano most often employs bright and saturated colors, moderating them with neutral tones.
