About this artwork
Our Three Faces explores the different levels of human identity. The work is based on the idea that every person carries three faces within them: the one they show to the world, the one known to family and friends, and a third face that remains hidden – the deepest and truest reflection of who we really are.
The three fragmented faces merge into a single composition, symbolizing the multifaceted nature of human beings. Ornamental details, geometric… structures, and fine lines represent memories, emotions, and experiences inscribed throughout a lifetime. Despite its intense colors, the work maintains a calm, almost meditative atmosphere.
The deliberate fragmentation creates a tension between visibility and concealment – between what we project outwards and what remains hidden within.

Maria Dilmann
Germany
Maria Dilmann is a contemporary abstract artist. She received a thorough artistic education in her youth and attended an art school for over five years, which shaped her early engagement with painting, materials, and composition.
In her work, she explores perception, atmosphere, and inner states beyond concrete forms or motifs. Her works emerge from a multifaceted, process-oriented approach in which color, structure, and surface enter into a tranquil dialogue.
Maria Dilmann works primarily with mixed media and acrylic on canvas. Layering, transparencies, and subtle textures lend depth and openness to her works. Her artistic practice is not always bound to fixed forms, but rather follows an inner movement and the desire to open spaces for perception, stillness, and resonance.
