About this artwork
In this work, I used oil to explore the dynamics of disunity and separation through vibrant shapes and colors. Each element and color intensifies the emotions of isolation and rupture. The distant figures and abstract shapes represent emotional and physical disconnection, evoking reflection and deep emotions in those who observe it. I wanted to capture the complexity of human estrangement in a way that would resonate energetically in any space.

Maria Fernanda Cuartas is a Colombian painter. She has been included in the book of the 100 most important contemporary artists in the world on two occasions by the Library of Artists of the European Communities. Her work is also part of the golden book of the Library of Artists of the Museum of the Americas, 30 Selected Contemporary International Artists. In 2011 and 2012, she was included in the Art in America magazine's guide to the most important artists in the world. My first experience with art was when I was 9 years old, when my work was chosen to take to Paris. That event confirmed to me that I was on the right path. The absence of a face is the strength of my work. For me, the power of art lies in the unsaid. Art gives us new visual dialects and it is there, in that sacred encounter between creation and viewer, where the viewer is given the freedom to unfold his imagination, living a unique experience between work and observer.
