About this artwork
Dr. Angela Merkel, German Chancellor, has led the country into calm waters during difficult times of crisis. Be it the 2016 refugee crisis or the economy and pandemic circles. 2021 A strong woman with consistent decisions. From 2016-2018, the artist Maria-Isabel Brandis painted with refugee girls on a non-profit basis. What started as a school project because of the state horticultural show in cooperation with the Förderverein Bildende Kunst OH.ev… (where the artist is a member of the board), ended in a wonderful friendship with girls from Syria who were gifted to paint, and others, who taught each other for 2 years from the artist Liesen. The artist had the portrait of a happy and positive Federal Chancellor in memory of such wonderful experiences.

VITA * 1965 Barcelona, Spain. Since 1987, she has been a freelance artist in Germany, working in oil, acrylic, and digital art. In 2006, she founded the studio "Maribel-Arts" for art education and promotion. In the same year, she became a member of the Association for Fine Arts Ostholstein (140 members). She has been elected chairwoman since 2022. 2020 to 2025 Art studies at the Academy of Painting Berlin. Awarded as a master student of Ute Wöllmann (master student of Georg Baselitz). Further awards: *Awarded at the Art Box Zurich 12.08.2021 with the picture series "Rococo". *Awarded at the Thomson Gallery Price 10.12.2021 with the series "Rococo" *Awarded at the Palm Art Award 2022. Honorable Mention. For the series "Vintage" Numerous exhibitions at home and abroad accompany her work as a painter for commissions from industry and business.
