Featured in Architectural Digest (Excellence in Design 2026, DC Metro Top 100 Industry Leaders), Maria-Victoria Checa is a Washington, DC–based contemporary artist working in oil and acrylic on large-scale canvas.

She creates two distinct bodies of work: luminous impressionist landscapes — water reflections, flower fields, and imagined natural environments filled with bold color and expressive texture — and bold non-representational abstracts that emphasize movement, energy, and dynamic composition.

Her work has been recognized by Modern Luxury ("10 Emerging Artists to Follow") and has appeared at the French Embassy in Washington, DC. A commissioned painting hangs in the Waldorf Astoria Chicago, and two water lily paintings are installed at Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center in DC. A 2024 SHEIN MOTF fashion collection was inspired by her floral paintings. Her Instagram (@mvcheca.art) has surpassed 50,000 followers.
