About this artwork
The canvas's space is articulated in geometric alternations that create counterpoints, constructing the modes and tempos of pause. Triangles, cones, circles, rectangles, straight lines. The entire repertoire is there to create a space that is no longer physical but an opening, a stargate to possible universes, untethered from the rules of daily life, from the reiteration of habits, where the soul reaches out toward a light place, where the spirit… travels freely among the folds of a rediscovered, new, unknown sky, and wanders gracefully between cobalt and ultramarine.
Marian De Kort, a Dutch painter with a spontaneous background enriched by experiences in Indonesia, the Netherlands, Paris, and Rome, uses oil, ceramic, paper, and glass as her primary expressive mediums. Her works emerge from material experimentation that evolves from initial figuration to a refined conceptual abstraction, playing on gestures, graphic signs, and visual layers. Through vibrant colors such as red, blue, and gold, she communicates a profound spiritual and cosmological energy, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in intense emotions and reflections on the human condition.
