About this artwork
This artwork depicts an abandoned pool cloaked in nocturnal blues, seen from a contemplative distance. The scene unfolds as a quiet interrogation of space and stillness, where the cool hues evoke a suspended atmosphere charged with latent energy. It invites an exploration of the boundaries between presence and void, encouraging a deeper engagement with the unseen tensions that shape our perception of place and time.

Still, atmospheric scenes with a cinematic quality characterize the work of Marianne Constance. Her images depict deserted landscapes and constructed worlds charged with a palpable tension, as if an event has just taken place or is about to unfold.
Balancing between utopia and dystopia, her work explores the boundary between the familiar and the uncanny. By combining painting and mixed media, she creates layered compositions in which atmosphere, materiality, and suggestion take center stage.
