About this artwork
These two women are dryads, nymphs who embody the vegetative power of forests. They like to dance around the trees, especially the oaks. Slender with an undulating body, they have the appearance of beautiful young girls. Their hair wiggles with the wind, their bare shoulders are graceful and their lower body is firmly anchored in the ground like the roots of an oak tree.

« I draw my inspiration from fashion and am inspired by a neckline, a bare shoulder, and a fitted fabric. A mixture of precision and raw art. »
Marianne Ruston is a French sculptor whose works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout France. She is inspired by femininity, softness, and poetry. Ruston's pieces are also influenced by Italian painting, the grace in composure, hair in the wind, and folds of fabric. Her pieces are modeled using chamotte clay. Once the shape is completed, she fires them and then proceeds with the patina. Some of her compositions are translated into bronze.
