About this artwork
In this painting, there’s a little rabbit tucked inside the chaos — its ears barely visible unless you really stop and look. I love that detail, because it reminds me of how I used to face my own difficulties. I was that rabbit, quietly hiding, hoping the storm would pass on its own.
For a long time, I chose flight over fight.
I ran from the heaviness, from the moments that felt too much.
But not anymore.
Today, I am stronger.
I fight.
I take… control.
The rabbit is still there in the painting, hiding in the colours and the noise, but it’s only a memory of who I used to be. A soft reminder of the journey between fear and courage. A reminder that even in confusion, there is always a path forward — and a stronger version of ourselves waiting to be found.
« I breathe art, I eat art and I am happy. Art is in my blood. Art is my life. »
Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
