Mariette Jakob was born in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. Since 1994, she has lived in the canton of Bern, where she worked as a geriatric nurse until her retirement. After retiring, she sought a hobby and discovered encaustic painting, which immediately captivated her. She enthusiastically experiments with wax without any prior planning, leading to unexpected and exciting results. A little later, she discovered PanPastel, a powder-like consistency that is applied with a sponge. Through the diverse play of colors in her art, she conveys joy, love, and the meditative freedom of painting.
