About this artwork
Oil on canvas, 80 × 60 × 2 cm
"Memory"
The first work in the series "My Inner World".
I am the girl who grew up on the coast of the Caspian Sea, surrounded by its silence and its creatures.
When I long to go back there for a moment,
I hold the shell to my ear –
and listen to my childhood.
I have always wanted to paint the underwater world and female figures.
This topic matured over time,
And one day I simply began to transfer my thoughts… onto the canvas.
The image was created using my own multi-layered technique –
according to recipes of old masters,
in dialogue with contemporary painting.
The work was created over the course of a month.
The surface resembles satin: soft colors,
Harmony – compositional and spiritual.
With warmest regards, Marina
Marina Kaiser works primarily with oil, watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, and pencil; born in Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea, she now lives and works in Germany. She creates multi-layered paintings in which she combines classical techniques of old masters with modern approaches—figuration and abstraction merge harmoniously. Her works portray feminine strength and fragility, movement and light, often in graceful portraits and floral motifs—they deeply touch the viewer, inviting reverie, sensuality, and emotional resonance.
