Marina Teding van Berkhout draws her inspiration from the environment in which she lives. Old buildings, weathered shutters, cracked and crumbled walls all tell a story that intrigues the artist, who resides in France. Van Berkhout represents figures and faces in a dreamlike and ethereal manner, allowing the viewer to form their own narrative. She works in oils, adding cold wax, to create multi-layered textural compositions.
