About this artwork
Realities of one’s own formal realities and spaces emerge in which “everything is possible”, in which “everything can be thought”.
Nothing is, everything happens. A cosmos full of possibilities, a playing field of fantastic images.
Mariola Laschet is a German artist who devoted herself to painting during her work in the stage design department at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. She uses glazing and sometimes pasty techniques. Countless layers of paint overlap on canvases and found objects, creating their own worlds. Her works are impulsive and constantly change during the work process. They are an expression of an "exchange of blows" between the artist and the paint. Laschet's art invites you to play with associations, breaks with the everyday and challenges the imagination. Titles such as "Tuumugtu", "Gatuum" or "Pülupp", which are free in their meaning but not arbitrary, expand the associative network.
What can be seen remains a matter of imaginary potential.
