About this artwork
It struck me on a recent trip to Barcelona, how the ornamentation on the architecture, both historic and contemporary (planned and random) was like a flowing signature. It’s so interesting to me that we continue to want to “decorate” or leave our mark in different ways. There is as much energy and sensuousness in the modern graffiti I saw as there was in the baroque designs.
I find challenging my self with the question of “what if...?” often brings… forth interesting and unexpected results. I decided with this piece I would let the curving lines and shapes they make, create the poetry in the painting.
