About this artwork
A soft background has emerged from countless delicate layers of glaze, reminiscent of clouds or is it a delicate surface of water? It appears to be carrying floating sea creatures. The picture gives the viewer the freedom to immerse himself in this ocean world.

« Painting is a way of loving. »
Marion Schmidtke is an artist based in Germany whose paintings have been exhibited in the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, and Spain. She describes her need to create as being based on an "irresistible need" to communicate her truth. Schmidtke's compositions are primarily inspired by nature, especially the animal and plant kingdoms.
Her artistic practice involves listening in absolute silence to all life forms, their natural rhythms, and music. It is this that she endeavors to share with viewers.
