This is a painting in a series on wood and burlap, where the artist is merging natural and synthetic in a symbiosis - without losing the strengths of either opposite. The acrylics make a glossy, layered universe on top of the robust and raw burlap. The contrasts make an endless. universal conversation - about differences living together in perfect disharmony.

Marit Geraldine Bostad is a Norwegian abstract colourist whose work has been exhibited internationally and most recently selected for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize shortlist. Geraldine’s paintings investigate themes such as the inner psyche, nature and memory, expressed as pure abstraction through her unique approach to the Nordic colour tradition.
