About this artwork
This painting was inspired by the racing A-Cats of Barnegat Bay. The A-Cats were developed in the 1920’s specifically for racing on the shallow waters of Barnegat Bay by summer visitors from New York and Philadelphia. To this day they can still be seen racing in regattas on a summer weekends on Barnegat Bay. My goal for this painting was for the viewer to feel the motion of a heeling sailboats, the breeze in their hair, the spray from the waves…
on their cheeks, and the sun on their face.
