About this artwork
London
These images were collected digitally on a Canon 7D and iphone between 2007 and 2022 - abstract observations incorporating pattern, form, textures and the play of light to create a minimalist aesthetic. Influenced by my love and appreciation for Japanese art and design. This photo has been inverted to negative in Photoshop.
Printed on Exhibition Photo Baryta Archival paper.
There will be a white border to allow for mounting. This will vary… depending on the image format (35mm or 6x7 medium format). The smallest edge border will be no more that 2cm.

Mark McEvoy is a photographer inspired by a lifetime of travel and exploration. Primarily a documentary and portrait photographer, he has been active since the late 1980s capturing the lives and stories of everyday people and surrounding nature and landscapes. He draws inspiration from daily life, cultural/psychological identity, rituals and the contrasts that divide the world through opposing beliefs and traditions. Within his practice he employs a variety of photographic approaches such as experimenting with technical restrictions and self-imposed constraints. He is especially interested in what lies below the surface, unnoticed and often ignored with a focus on social, environmental and political themes. His images powerfully convey the intricacies of human emotion and experience, inviting viewers into open-ended interpretation—sometimes evocative, beautiful, mysterious, or even confrontational.
