About this artwork
For years I've strived to capture the loose, gestural expressiveness of some of my smaller works on a larger scale. This painting was my first large canvas since my recent shoulder surgery and I decided to take the leap using a large 3" brush and a 7" painting knife. Inspired by memories of vibrant sunsets over the ocean along the Gulf Coast, I love the effect of the accumulated layers of and texture and the explosion of color.
"Ebb and Flow" is… a 48" x 60" oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas. The sides are finished neutral grey and the canvas is wired and ready to hang.
