About this artwork
Wheel Base a dimensional chunk of movement. An homage to Franz Kline - color, action and gesture. A homage to abstract expressionism. That flash of speed and shadow in your peripheral vision. The sheer joy of a large black stroke of paint.

« Work that never stops moving. Learning, adapting, seeking new materials, and any way to amplify an apprehension of space. To re-compose space into elegantly ferocious abstractions. »
Mark Vinci is an award-winning painter and sculptor based in the United States whose works have been exhibited nationally. He describes his distinctive abstract collages as being imbued with the visual impression of speed, caught out the window of a fast-moving car, resulting in hyper-distortion. In his artistic process, Vinci most often creates on wood or steel supports.
