About this artwork
The Camino de Santiago is a 500 mile pilgrimage of medieval origins across northern Spain. Individuals walk the route for different reasons. Undoubtedly there is a spiritual component; a desire to disconnect; an interest in encountering people of like-mind from around the world; and, a desire to physically challenge oneself. Within this sculpture he intended to fondly reflect upon his pilgrimage that he experienced two years ago, a journey he wished…
to repeat in 2020 yet unfortunately the pandemic closed off that possibility.
