About this artwork
In a powerful movement, lines and surfaces overlap the pool of ink that splashes across the painting surface. Geometric black bodies and finely dashed grains grow from all directions. The intersecting lines form segments that have been decorated with shading or lightened with a special solvent. Individual surfaces are covered with brass leaf. This composition, which at first glance seems unusual and amorphous, impresses with its wealth of detail.

« Chaos is uninhabitable; it requires form, structure and design. »
Markus J. Becker is a German artist living and working between Berlin and Dublin, whose works have been exhibited across Germany. With careful application of line, shape and structure, and the implementation of references from architecture and abstraction, he creates compositions that move between dynamic and static, chaos and order.
