About this artwork
The Passion of Christ is part of a twelve-part picture cycle for the Gospel Book of St. Ludwig Saarlouis. The crown of thorns is probably the strongest and most significant symbol of Christianity. The background, made up of red, pink and purple flowing into one another, illustrates the wounds of Christ. The color white stands for purity and innocence. The motif is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth 205 gr. paper.
