About this artwork
With this work, I seek to explore the deceptive duality between what is shown and what really is. Using pencil, Indian ink and graphite, I have created a surreal and figurative world where emotions are interwoven in a dance of shadows and lights. The manipulative hands and the empty mask invite us to reflect on identity and authenticity in a setting of marked contrasts. This piece will add intellectual depth and emotional intensity to any space.

« The only way I know to improve is to keep working. »
Martín Blanco is a painter and draftsman based in Andorra whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, France, Italy, Spain, and Ireland. His works are not concerned with the representation of beauty. Rather, Blanco explores human nature and its weaknesses, focusing on fears, anguishes, anxieties, and "everything that conditions us as mortal beings". His artistic practice is motivated by the development of images that inspire a reaction in the viewer.
