About this artwork
In this work, I explore the ethereal connection between bodies and souls soaring in a dreamlike space. I used oil paint to capture fluidity and movement, fusing the figurative with the symbolic and surreal. I wanted to convey hope and freedom, that energy that transforms any environment into a refuge where the spirit soars and transcends. Imagine that vibrant force in your own space! This is my latest painting. I decided to take the space and time…
to create freely, allowing my inner self to emerge. I'm happy with the result: these beings rising in space, crossing the ethereal realm, seeking a delicate thread to reunite humanity. I used a varied palette that I love, which allows me to better express the idea, and which I also feel can bring a powerful energy to any space where it's placed. I hope you like it!

Martha Escondeur is an award-winning painter and sculptor based in Uraguay whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the Netherlands and Spain. Many of her pieces relate to the human being and are a translation of their experiences and emotions. Escondeur endeavors to capture what she observes in the "other", whether visible, clear, or subtle. In addition, symbolic meaning is often imbued her composition's narratives. She creates using oils, acrylics, and gilding on canvas.
