About this artwork
AWAITING THE MOMENT
The MYZEL photographs by Martin Ecker strive for a decoding of the elementary structures, to "something more real than the real" itself. Landscapes, buildings, people collapse in matter and form.
Awaiting the Moment by Martin Ecker gives us a glimpse into the everyday life of fishermen who patiently wait for the ebb and flow to cast their nets. The time in between becomes a moment of waiting, of diving into an unreal world… in which the dream of the big catch lives. Ecker manages to draw the viewer into this world of waiting and dreaming while appreciating the beauty and tranquility of this scene.

Martin Ecker is a painter and photographer based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally. He cites space, time, and light playing a role in almost all of his compositions. In addition, Ecker's artistic practice favors experimentation with reactive processes and approaches. He has developed his own methods using living organisms in analog photography and also employs oxidation processes of precious metals his paintings.
