About this artwork
Renowned artist Martin Ecker's mesmerizing painting "DIENCEPHALON" takes the viewer on an immersive journey to the core of our survival instincts and sentiments. "DIENCEPHALON" presents a variety of sensations and sensibilities that are processed in the diencephalic area of our brain. This is where basic perceptions such as sight, touch and bodily sensations originate. The painting also reveals the emotional sensations associated with our drives…
and survival instincts. It thus creates a multi-layered representation of human experience.
The use of gold and three-dimensional color collages gives this work of art a unique depth and texture. The painting seems to be in motion and exudes a dynamic power that captivates the viewer.
"DIENCEPHALON" presents the viewer with the central aspects of human life.
