About this artwork
HELI
Martin Ecker's photograph shows a helicopter on a snowy peak, hanging in a translucent light. The MYZEL process that Ecker uses transforms reality into an eroded memory and gives the image a timeless, surreal quality. The landscape seems to unfold as an open field to imagination and freedom, encouraging the viewer to think beyond the visible world and explore the unknown. Photography is an invitation to an adventure beyond the horizon, to a… landscape that we know nothing about.
The example for sale comes with a real wood oak frame that has been stained to a mahogany color.

« My work is dedicated to deciphering chance and intention. »
Martin Ecker is a painter and photographer based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally. He cites space, time, and light playing a role in almost all of his compositions. In addition, Ecker's artistic practice favors experimentation with reactive processes and approaches. He has developed his own methods using living organisms in analog photography and also employs oxidation processes of precious metals his paintings.
